The Top 100 Places To Work In Dallas: Spotlight
Charles Schwab offers a wide range of investment advice, products and services, including brokerage and retirement accounts, ETFs, online trading and more. It’s been an exciting year for the company — in September, they broke ground on its new regional office campus in north Tarrant County, unveiling the 70-acre office project on the corner of State Highways 170 & 114 in Westlake. The new office and amenities buildings, slated to open in early 2019, will allow Schwab to house up to 2,600 employees, up from approximately 500 (and growing) now. Dallas/Fort Worth is a major employment hub for the company.
On the list of Top 100 Places to Work in Dallas 2017, Charles Schwab ranked #11 on the Top Midsize Companies list, and won the top vote for “Best Ethics.” The company scored highest on the response: “This company operates by strong values and ethics.” Their unique perks also got some attention in this year’s round of awards: “Sabbaticals are a growing trend. For example, at Charles Schwab & Co. Inc., eligible, non-officer employees can apply for a paid, four-week sabbatical for professional or personal development, such as career development, community service, education or travel.”
Hospitality is embedded in Hyatt’s DNA — so it’s no wonder they are an award-winning employer, time and again. This year, Grand Hyatt DFW ranked #7 and Hyatt Regency DFW ranked #16 on the Top Midsize Companies list. Specially recognized for “celebrating with flair,” Grand Hyatt DFW “held its second annual Summer Splash, an end-of-summer pool party for colleagues and their families with food trucks, games and friendly competition.
“This provided an opportunity for our international interns and corporate management trainees to gain a cultural and a local Texas experience,” says Keith Spinden, general manager. “The response was overwhelmingly positive, and they can’t wait for Summer Splash 2018.”
USAA’s mission is to continue serving millions of military members as well as their families with competitive rates on insurance, banking and investment services.
USAA’s Dallas area offices ranked #9 on the Top Large Companies list and also scored the title of “Best Work/Life Flexibility.” Workers scored USAA highest on the response: “I have the flexibility I need to balance my work and personal life.”
